Suddenly, so many things I felt insecure about had a medical explanation, which was simultaneously liberating ("so THAT'S why I'm so bad at x!") and a bit depressing ("what could my life have been like if I knew this before all these deep-seeded insecurities formed?"). Once I was able to not dwell so much on the depressing part, the diagnosis allowed me to slowly build back my confidence over the years. Now I feel like I'm the most confident and self-assured I've ever been in my whole life.
